Hybrid Optimisation Schemes for the Clearance of Flight Control Laws

چکیده
The application of two evolutionary optimisation schemes to the problem of flight clearance of nonlinear control laws for highly augmented aircraft is described. Hybrid versions of both schemes incorporating local gradient-based optimisation are also developed and evaluated. Comparisons of computational complexity and global convergence are conducted by checking for violations of a nonlinear clearance criterion for a detailed simulation model of a high performance aircraft with a full authority flight control law. The recently introduced differential evolution approach, when appropriately augmented with local optimisation methods, is shown to have significant potential for improving the reliability and efficiency of the current industrial flight clearance process. Multiobjective Worst-Case Analysis of a Re-Entry Vehicle Control Law
This paper reports results of a joint study between ESA and the University of Leicester on worst-case analysis of NDI control laws for an industrial standard Reusable Launch Vehicle. Multiple performance objectives over a particular phase of the atmospheric re-entry are considered simultaneously in the analysis, yielding valuable information about the trade-offs involved in satisfying different...

This paper reports results of a joint study between ESA, DEIMOS Space S.L. and the University of Leicester on the robustness analysis of flight control laws for future hypersonic re-entry vehicles. We apply a novel hybridised version of the deterministic global optimisation algorithm, DIviding RECTangles (DIRECT), to perform worst-case analysis of a nonlinear-dynamic inversion (NDI) flight cont...
متن کاملComputation of Worst-case Pilot Inputs for Clearance of Flight Control Laws
In this paper, global optimisation and nonlinear simulation are used to search for the worst-case control demands which may be input by a pilot flying a modern high performance aircraft with a full authority flight control law. The flexibility of global optimisation is exploited to simultaneously search for worst-case pilot inputs and worst-case combinations of uncertain parameters in the nonli...
متن کاملThe comparison of two high-order semi-discrete central schemes for solving hyperbolic conservation laws
This work presents two high-order, semi-discrete, central-upwind schemes for computing approximate solutions of 1D systems of conservation laws. We propose a central weighted essentially non-oscillatory (CWENO) reconstruction, also we apply a fourth-order reconstruction proposed by Peer et al., and afterwards, we combine these reconstructions with a semi-discrete central-upwind numerical flux ...
متن کاملAdaptive Quaternion Attitude Control of Aerodynamic Flight Control Vehicles
Conventional quaternion based methods have been extensively employed for spacecraft attitude control where the aerodynamic forces can be neglected. In the presence of aerodynamic forces, the flight attitude control is more complicated due to aerodynamic moments and inertia uncertainties. In this paper, a robust nero-adaptive quat...
